We visited Hudsons to celebrate my birthday so the excitement levels were sky-high. Upon entering we took our seats after our waitress hastily appeared from the dark depths of the restaurant.
We settled on choosing drinks first whilst we pondered our meals. Our waitress though was a blank slate when it came to explaining the craft beers stocked by them and babbled about what she assumed it must be. But we took pity on her and ordered our usual of beer and milkshakes. She did however seem quite knowledgeable about the food.
Hudsons was running a Monday to Sunday special between 12pm to 4pm where you could get 50% off pizzas and calzoncinis, so we settled on burgers (alas sides sold separately), pizza, and calzocinis amongst the 5 of us.

Our drinks arrived first – Ice, crisp beer and the largest milkshakes that have ever caught my attention. These swirling delights were contained in huge goblets and were the type that you would request with your last meal – But at R 60 each I think they should be that way!
Our pizzas and calzocinis were quite decent and of quite an appreciable size. The burgers and sides, though, were a bit of a downer. The patties, although large, were overcooked and the fries were swimming in ancient oil.
Which is why we would recommend Hudson’s to anyone with a sweet tooth looking for extra-special milkshakes, but that’s just in my opinion 🙂
